Why You Need To Read The Policies And Procedures Before You Sign Up
You have decided that you want to build an MLM business. You were talking to your friend Joe and he told you about the best network marketing company and how he was going to retire in a few years with financial freedom for the rest of his life. This is just what you have been dreaming of and you just signed up!
When you begin to build a MLM business you have chosen to agree to some company’s contract. A lot of people don’t realize that but it is true 100 of the time.
You may not have signed on the dotted line but you checked a box saying you read and agree to the Policies Procedures. That is required before you can begin marketing any MLM product. So what I would ask you is … did you actually read the Policies and Procedures? Most people don’t. The PP is the legal contract between you and the network marketing company.
Do you have a clue what you have agreed to? You might be surprised. Heck you might be absolutely shocked. It’s fairly standard for a company to insert one or more clauses making it clear that you the rep may be terminated at any time for any reason with 30 days’ notice. And it is done by companies on a regular basis. They wait until you have built an income and then they terminate you. Who do you think gets your stream of income? Remember this contract was written by company lawyers. Your company probably will not terminate you to steal your check unless they get themselves in financial trouble but it happens.. If you want a solid foundation for yourself and your family and your team then you definitely want a contract that can’t kick the legs out from under you.
It’s important to really target the exact people who will build your network marketing business. You have a lot of markets to choose from. Pro mailers have learned the best ways to target the best prospects to mail to. And in that business it is very very expensive to make a mistake when you mail. Successful mailers say that what makes money isn’t the mailing piece they send out it is the names on the list they mail to. You’ll probably think this is weird but the top criteria to be able to predict whether a person will buy is has this person bought the same thing before? Sounds like it couldn’t possibly be right but it is the truth. Mail order dealers who know what they’re doing mail exclusively to people who have already bought the exact same thing or something very similar. Why does that work? Because this is a prospect who has stood up as a person interested in exactly what you are selling. So your best MLM prospects are NOT the general public. Your top prospects are frustrated network marketers still searching for the opportunity that will give them the success they want.
Michael Dlouhy’s network marketing ebook “Success In 10 Steps” has been on the market several years now. The ideas above and many others come from this book. For example so many people get into network marketing and dedicate themselves to becoming experts on their company’s products. Many companies actually encourage this with “product education” training. But the fact is that education is not going to help you build your business at all. Network marketing is a business that requires you to build relationships with people. You’re far better off learning about people and how to connect with them emotionally. If you learn about product then you will have to become a salesperson to convince someone your product is better than others. But if you can build relationships they will join you because they trust you. You get a stepbystep plan on how to do just that in the book.
